Prosecutors investigating, Gibril Massaquoi, a former Sierra Leonean warlord for war crimes he allegedly committed during the Liberian civil war in 2003, have returned to Monrovia, to hear additional witnesses.
The team returned to Monrovia after the defense counsel indicted two organizations namely Civitas Maxima and Global Justice and Research Project, who are assisting Finish prosecutors of paying witnesses to lie on their client.
Prosecutors first convened hearings in Monrovia in May where they listened to testimonies of how Massaquoi led a group of fighters that killed, tortured, raped and exploited civilians.
