The Coordination of Press Associations (CAP) in Senegal is calling for swift regulatory reforms to strengthen the country’s media ecosystem in the face of a growing digital revolution.
At the launch of its General Report themed Building a High-Performance Media Ecosystem, CAP urged the government to harmonise outdated regulations, improve journalists’ working conditions, and uphold professional ethics.
The report also highlights the urgent need to address gender-based violence in the media space, underscoring the importance of inclusive and ethical journalism.
This push comes on the heels of a recent communication sector reform forum convened by the Ministry of Communications, signaling mounting momentum for change.
