Lawyers for former Liberian rebel leader Aliu Kosiah, currently standing trial in Switzerland for war crimes will continue the defence of their client today.
Kosiah who faces up to 20 years imprisonment if found guilty, is on trial on 25 separate charges including ordering the murder and cruel treatment of civilians, rape, the recruitment of child soldiers, and pillage.
Already a number of witnesses have given testimony against the accused who maintains his innocence.
Liberian Journalist Anthony Stephens who is monitoring proceedings at the Swiss Federal Criminal Court, in the city of Bellinzona tells WADR’s Atiewin Mbillah-Lawson that the justices have until March 21 to rule on the matter, failure to which they will have to seek a 6 month extension from a specialized court.
