Vaccination against the Ebola is currently underway after the Cocoa rich nation detected its first case of the virus over the weekend in 25 years.
The case was of an 18-year-old girl who arrived the nation’s capital Abidjan from neighbouring Guinea.
Workers in the hospital where the lady was admitted were pinned as primary target of the vaccination campaign after the nation took delivery of some 5000 Ebola vaccines from the World Health Organization.
The ministry of health said nine people including three family members and 6 health workers, the lady came in contact with are currently receiving treatment.
The WHO has said, it is deeply concerned in regards to the virus’ presence in Abidjan, a densely-populated metropolis of more than 4 million people.
