The ECOWAS Community Court of Justice has given Liberia’s government 30 days to respond to a lawsuit filed by Emma Matieh Glassco, the suspended Director General of the National Fisheries and Aquaculture Authority (NaFAA).
Glassco alleges wrongful dismissal, abuse of power, and denial of due process by the Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission (LACC). The ECOWAS Court registered her application on March 24, 2025, and issued a notice for the government to submit its defense. Failure to comply could result in a default judgment in her favor.
Appointed by former President George Weah in 2022, Glassco was suspended by President Joseph Boakai on February 12, 2025, following a NaFAA Board resolution calling for an investigation into her leadership. The LACC and Ministry of Justice were tasked with reviewing her financial and operational decisions but have yet to release findings.
