The National Commission for Persons with Disabilities of Nigeria has appealed to the government to create a more disability-inclusive society.
James Lalu, Executive Secretary of the Commission made the appeal at the regional meeting of experts on disability inclusion in West Africa which commenced on Tuesday in Nigeria's capital Abuja.
Lalu represented by Barrister Yusuf Iyodo said the need to scale up the disability inclusion at all levels of the society is now more imperative as only a few countries in the subregion have adopted the disability policy framework.
He listed some of the challenges faced in a non-inclusive disability society.
