The Nigerian Police Force has called on Amnesty International to retract and apologize for its report titled “Bloody August: Nigeria Government’s Violent Crackdown on and Bad Governance Protests.”

In a letter dated January 6, 2025, the police refuted claims of brutality, human rights violations, and excessive violence during the August 2024 #EndBadGovernance protests.

Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, emphasized the police’s commitment to professionalism and accused Amnesty of misrepresentation in a statement issued on Tuesday.
