Nigeria's electoral umpire, the Independent National Electoral Commission has announced a new timetable for the 2023 general elections.
The Chairman of the commission, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, during a news briefing in the capital city, Abuja explained that the shift was informed by the newly-signed Electoral Act.
He adds that the new dates is to allow for conformity with the provisions of the Electoral Act, which stipulates that elections notice be published at least 360 days to the elections.
