In Ghana, the Energy Commission has announced a ban on the importation of some second-hand electrical appliances and renewable energy products.
About 20 electrical appliances have been prohibited from importation including air Conditioners, comfort fans, computers, electric kettles and microwaves.
While environmentalists have applauded the decision describing it as long overdue, dealers in these appliances have threatened to go on demonstration if the directive is not reversed.
