The ECOWAS Parliament Committee has called for the need to strengthen measures to maintain term limits in the region

The committee also called on the end to tampering constitutions to suit individuals for desire to stay in power

They called for further strengthening measures to deter attempts to carry out military coups in West Africa.

The ECOWAS Parliament made the comments at the closing of the Delocalized Meeting of the Joint Committee on Political Affairs, Peace and Security, Legal Affairs and Human Rights, Social Affairs, Gender and Women Empowerment during the weekend in Banjul.
