The Gambia’s Press Union demands repeal of repressive laws

The Gambia Press Union, GPU, has made a call to the government to repeal the repressive laws contained in the 1997 Constitution.

The GPU is also urging the authorities to fast-track the implementation of the Access to Information law, which was enacted in 2019 but is yet to be fully operationalized.
