Regional experts have commended Senegal’s diplomacy efforts with countries of the region and beyond.
The most recent such move is the Senegalese Prime Minister’s visit to Rwanda to attend President Paul Kagame’s swearing-in ceremony and his detour in Mali, where he met with his counterpart Choguel Maiga.
During his short stay, Ousmane Sonko also held talks with the Malian Transitional President Colonel Assimi Goita, promising Dakar’s continued support to Bamako in the fight against terrorism.
Sonko’s mission followed President Bassirou Diomaye Faye’s tour in June when he delivered a message from the subregional body – ECOWAS.
Analysing these visits, Ibrahima Kane, a regional governance expert says they are relevant to Senegal as a state and the region at large.
