Senegalese President, Bassirou Diomaye Faye has departed Dakar for China to attend the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) summit, which he will be co-chairing. The forum is set to take place in Beijing from September 4 to 6, 2024.
According to the Senegalese government, the visit which is at the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping aims to strengthen the friendship and cooperation between Senegal and China, which have recently been upgraded to a comprehensive strategic partnership.
Several heads of state have already arrived in China and are anticipating the outcomes of the major event.
