The Ivorian government has strongly rejected allegations of involvement in a foiled coup attempt in Burkina Faso.

Burkinabe authorities claimed the attempt on Captain Ibrahim Traoré’s life took place in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire’s capital.

In response, Ivorian officials dismissed the claims as unfounded and politically motivated.

Tensions between the two neighbors appear to be rising as security concerns deepen in the region.
