The Chairperson of the National Elections Commission of Liberia, Davidetta Browne-Lansanah, has denied a local newspaper publication linking her to a ploy to rig the coming 2023 election in favor of the government.

In its Monday, February 28, 2022 edition, the "Hot Pepper Newspaper" alleged that Minister of State for Presidential Affairs, Nathaniel McGill, on behalf of President George Weah, reportedly offered the commission a deal to rig the 2023 general and presidential elections in favor of the Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC), something the NEC boss says is false.
