Ghana’s Minority in Parliament is calling for a bipartisan investigation into alleged financial losses under the Bank of Ghana’s Gold-for-Reserves programme.
The call follows controversy sparked by an International Monetary Fund report, which flagged estimated losses of about 214 million US dollars linked to gold transactions involving the central bank.
The Minority insists a cross-party probe is necessary to establish accountability and clarify the circumstances surrounding the reported losses.
However, Goldbod has rejected claims of any financial loss, saying it welcomes the proposed investigation to clear the air and ensure transparency.
