Opposition presidential candidate Faya Milimono has raised concerns over what he describes as multiple irregularities during Sunday’s presidential election in Guinea.
Speaking at a press conference on Monday, the leader of the Liberal Bloc accused authorities of arresting some of his party’s activists and criticized what he called a notably low voter turnout.
Milimono said these developments undermine confidence in the electoral process and warned they could affect the credibility of the vote.
He added that his party is considering filing legal appeals to challenge aspects of the election, as Guinea awaits the announcement of provisional results.
