Togolese authorities have arrested several individuals suspected of involvement in armed attacks and other criminal activities in the capital, Lomé, as part of stepped-up security operations.
The arrests were carried out by the Togolese National Police amid growing concerns over rising cases of theft, assault, harassment, and sexual violence in the city.
According to authorities, reinforced security patrols have been deployed in neighborhoods including Yokoè, Adétikopé, Agbalépédo, and Dévégo, where multiple incidents have been reported in recent weeks.
Officials say the measures are aimed at restoring public safety and deterring criminal activity across Lomé.
