The 5^th Regional Consultation of the Network of National Human Rights Institutions in West Africa is underway in the Gambian capital Banjul

The three-day meeting which began on Wednesday brought together commissioners of human rights institutions in the region and human rights advocates

As our Banjul correspondent Sankulleh Janko reports, the theme of the meeting is the State of National Human Rights Intuitions in West Africa NHRIS, 30 years after the adoption of the principles relating to the status of national human rights institutions (Paris principles).
