Women in Liberia have commended the government for enacting a law that secures the rights of women to own land and participate in decision-making processes concerning land governance.
Enacted in 2022, the law has been described as one of the most progressive rights laws in Africa and the first legislation to recognize customary ownership of land in Liberia.
