US Under Secretary of State Bonnie Jenkins will arrive in Cotonou – Benin today Tuesday, March 7, 2023, for a 72-hour visit. 

She will meet the country’s authorities and senior military officials during her stay.

According to a statement from the United States Department of State, Jenkins will also discuss the expansion of assistance for the professionalization and capacity building of Benin’s military and security forces to promote national and regional security and stability.

Before Benin, the Under-Secretary of State has been in Algeria since Sunday where she met the country’s officials. 

Topics discussed in that country concerned initiatives aimed at deepening bilateral security cooperation to address common regional security challenges.
