The Secretary General of the United Nations Special Envoy for road safety, Jean Todt, has praised Senegal’s efforts to combat road accidents in the country.
During his visit to the National Road Safety Agency (Anaser), Todt acknowledged that the global situation surrounding road accidents is “absolutely unacceptable,” with 1.3 million deaths and between 30 and 50 million people sustaining injuries and disabilities each year.
Despite this, he expressed optimism that effective solutions can be found.
