The United Nations says it will continue to support Senegal in its quest for lasting peace and sustainable democracy.
The statements followed President Macky Sall’s Monday declaration of his non-candidacy in the 2024 Presidential – a debate that in part sparked deadly confrontations in the country.
The UN now joins a list of Organizations, continental and regional organs including the ECOWAS, governments, and Civil Society groups to commend the Senegalese head of state for what has been described as a landmark achievement.
