The Togolese presidency has again postponed the legislative and regional elections, slated for April 20, 2024.

Without a new date, the government in a statement clarified that the postponement will allow the state to carry out the necessary consultations on the contested constitutional reform project adopted on March 25.

Today, April 4^th would have marked the commencement of electoral campaigns until the government’s announcement on Wednesday evening.
