Complexe Cajou Du center – a cashew processing center has secured 600 million CFA francs fund to support its production of cashew nuts.
The automated nuts processing center secured the funds with the assistance of risk sharing – Incentive Mechanism for Agricultural Financing (MIFA).
MIFA disclosed this Tuesday during a visit by the Togolese Prime Minister – Victoire Tomégah-Dogbé, to the Centre.
Ibrahim Kangaye, owner of the processing plant, said the centre has an annual capacity of 8,000 tonnes of nuts and 2,000 tonnes of kernels. Most of which is exported to Europe and the United states.
According to Kangaye, while the funds will aid the purchase of modern production equipment, it will also facilitate the creation of more than 200 direct jobs for women, and 100 temporary jobs for the host community.
The cashew plant seats at the center of Sagbadeï – a village in the Central region of Togo.
