The Court of First Instance of Lomé has condemned the newspaper, THE Alternative for defamation. But the ruling has been criticised by media professionals who spoke of a violation of the right to information.

Two academics announced on Thursday that they had filed a complaint against the judge who handed down a guilty verdict against the newspaper and its editor and the embezzlers cited in the newspaper’s publication.

They demand the truth in this affair.
