Three peacekeepers with The United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission (MINUSMA) in Mali were killed when their armored vehicle hit an Improvised explosive devices IED.
Six others were injured during the incident on Wednesday as gunmen shot at them shortly after the explosion that killed 3 while on a security mission.
The incident occurred about 20 km north of Bambara-Maoudé locality, on the Douentza-Timbuktu axis, in the Timbuktu region.
The Special Representative of the UN Secretary General and Head of MINUSMA, Mr. Mahamat Saleh ANNADIF condemned this new attack against the Peacekeepers.
