Gambian President Adama Barrow has disclosed plans to start a project of $116 million to address flooding in the capital Banjul and its environs.

President Barrow disclosed the plans on Monday after personally visiting communities affected by the latest flood during the weekend.

The Gambia leader says climate change is real while calling on the public to adapt to the environmental reality.

He also promised to provide immediate assistance to victims of the flood.
