ECOWAS Forces in the Gambia – ECOMIG has denied reports of preventing Gambians from accessing their rice fields in the Foni Region, the birthplace of former President Yahya Jammeh

The ECOMIG Command further stated that they do not have the authority to prevent Gambian citizens from their activities

This comes after reports claimed the ECOWAS troops stationed in the said area prevented farmers’ access to their farmlands
