Survivors of the St. Peter’s Lutheran Church massacre—one of the bloodiest in Liberia’s history have filed a lawsuit against the regime, seeking more than US$1,500,000 (one million five-hundred thousand US dollars) for the loss of approximately 16 family members and the Government’s subsequent failure to investigate the killings.
Making the disclosure in Monrovia on Friday, United States Ambassador-at-Large for Global Criminal Justice— Beth Van Schaack expressed fear that the country might eventually degenerate into crisis if war and economic crimes courts are not established.
