The pump prices of petrol, diesel and kerosene have officially been increased across Sierra Leone by one thousand Leones or 0.01 dollar, from 8,500 or 0.85 to 9,500 or 0.95 per liter.
Referencing the public pronouncement on the increase, the Ministry of Transport and Aviation in a press release has accordingly agreed with stakeholders in the transport sector to slightly adjust upward transport fares within and between towns and cities.
Following the price adjustments, commercial transport operators especially formed long queues at various pump stations to get drips of fuel into their tanks. It however seemed though in the morning of Thursday that some fuel stations were taken by shock with the new price.
