Lecturers at the University of Sierra Leone and Polytechnic institutions have have agreed to resume classes today, Wednesday 3rd February.
This decision followed the governments fifty percent salary adjustment to all tertiary institutions effective 1 April this year.
President Julius Maada Bio announcing the package, said a twenty-five percent salary increase would be made effective January 2022 – amounting to seventy- five percent of their long agitation of one hundred percent upward salary adjustment after tax.
President Maada Bio Tuesday at the State House, made this pronouncement during a meeting with representatives of the Academic Staff Associations of Universities and Polytechnics.
