Sierra Leone's President Juluis Maada Bio on Wednesday launched the Global Fund and approved grants for his country to the tune of 157 million dollars.
The funds will shore up the country’s fight against AIDS, tuberculosis, malaria and COVID and will run from 2021 to 2024
The Ministry of Health and Sanitation and the Catholic Relief Services has targeted pregnant women, children under the age of 5, sex workers, youth, prisoners and people affected by the diseases.
The money will also build the institutional capacity of the health ministry.
