AngloGold Ashanti, a gold mining giant in Ghana says 79 of the illegal miners who invaded their Obuasi Gold mine in the Ashanti Region have given themselves up for arrest.

For a distressing period of four days, a group of miners, who had ventured into the mine in search of gold deposits, remained trapped without access to food or water.

According to reports, the miners came out of the underground tunnel of their own will, unharmed and have been arrested.

From Accra, Atiewin Mbillah-Lawson reports
