Senegal’s govt opens dialogue with political groups as tensions persist

The anticipated call by the Senegalese government for dialogue with various influential political groups in the country is scheduled to commence today, Wednesday, at the Palace of the Republic in the capital Dakar.

Confirming weeks of speculation, media sources have reported that the Taxawu Senegal movement, led by Khalifa Sall, the former mayor of Dakar from 2009 to 2018 before his dismissal, officially declared its participation in the national dialogue on Tuesday.
