Senegalese President Macky Sall has promised massive employment for Senegalese youth, stressing that unemployment is a long-drawn-out battle.
According to Sall, the battle of employment cannot be won in a single day.
The President made the declaration on Thursday at the opening of the presidential council on youth employment and integration in the capital – Dakar.
Recall, the head of state had last month, in an address in the aftermath of the nationwide protest that rocked Senegal, promised a robust policy framework by his government to tackle unemployment.
However, youths have shared their concerns on specific areas that the government should focus on, to drive limitless opportunities.
Moussa Diop, a youth leader at the Cheik Anta Diop University, spoke to WADR about areas of the economy, he thinks President Sall’s presidency should optimize.
