Senegal to introduce health pass for access to public spaces

Senegalese government is planning to introduce a health pass for access to public places as a way of intensifying the vaccination campaign against covid-19.

Senegalese President Macky Sall who stated this on Wednesday, further asks the Minister of Health and Social Action to reactivate and intensify the vaccination campaign, including in schools and universities, by examining, in connection with the National Committee for the Management of Epidemics (CNGE), the procedures for establishing a health pass for access to public places. 

Meanwhile, One death and four new coronavirus infections have been identified in the past twenty-four hours in Senegal, the director of the National Health Education and Information Service (SNEIPS), Lamine Bara Guèye, said on Wednesday.

 According to the bulletin, 72,033 patients were cured, and 1,879 others succumbed to Covid-19. 

 Thirteen patients are still being cared for in health services or at home, and 1,295,646 people have received at least one dose of vaccine against the coronavirus, adds Mr. Guèye.
