As part of the effort to mitigate the effect of climate change on the river basins, which includes Senegal, Mali, Guinea and Mauritania, The Organization for the Development of the Senegal River (OMVS), says it is partnering with stakeholders to sustain the economic viability of the river.
Speaking during a panel session on day 3 of the Open Sahel Festival in Mboumba commune, Pape Ndiouga Ndiaye, said OMVS, has implemented the principle of equitable sharing among member states when it comes to ownership of infrastructure constructed in the river basin or water resource benefits.
He said these efforts are to sustain the economic viability of the river to all parties.
