Senegal's opposition leader sonko ordered release from further detention.
A judge in Dakar has ordered the release of opposition leader Ousmane Sonko from further detention.
Sonko has been in detention since last week Wednesday when he was arrested by the police and charged with ‘disrupting public order and participating in an unauthorized demonstration’.
The member of parliament however regains freedom under legal conditions referred to Judicial Control.
Mr. Sonko’s legal team have expressed their dissatisfaction over the provisional release, saying such violates his rights and privileges as political figure.
They argue that Judicial control further seeks to silence the opposition leader from commenting on issues of relative importance about the ongoing matter.
