The Senegalese opposition coalition Yewi Askan Wi, is calling for a new mobilization on May 19 to support the opposition leader Ousmane Sonko.
Recall, he was served 6 months suspended prison sentence by the Dakar Court of Appeal for defamation and insults.
A conviction that could eliminate him from the presidential race of February 2024.
But Sonko in the wake of the development at a press briefing late Tuesday reiterated his stance as “a call to resistance’’.
