Senegal’s Minister of Justice appeared before the UN Human Rights Council defending the country’s human rights record.

Despite Senegal’s historical acclaim for upholding human rights, it currently faces criticism.

These concerns come as a report published on Monday by the human rights NGO Human Rights Watch calls on the Senegalese authorities to respect the right to protest.
