Senegalese customs have announced that they have seized 634 kg of Indian hemp and fake medicines in the Koungheul and Mbour areas.

According to a statement sent to the APS on Monday, the Koungheul Mobile Customs Brigade seized on Sunday 482 kg of Indian hemp during a routine check on a Malian truck whose driver was referred for prosecution.

The product was packaged in 241 sachets and concealed in an equipped hiding place.

The customs services also announced that during the weekend, the Maritime Customs Units carried out search operations along the coast and in the Saloum Islands.

These operations led to the seizure, by the Maritime Brigade of Mbour, of 152 kg of Indian hemp, at Keur Balla.

The Joal Maritime Brigade for its part seized 8 packages of medicines aboard a pirogue for an estimated value of over 21 million CFA francs.
