Senegal: Angelique Kidjo’s Batonga to assist underprivileged and deprived adolescent girls

Underprivileged and deprived adolescent girls in Senegal have been spotted for a rapid transformation project that aims to protect their rights.

Some of these girls Botanga, a non-governmental organization says are victims of harmful cultural practices such as early marriage, which impact their potential to fully contribute to society.

Legendary Beninese artist and Founder of Botanga, Angelique Kidjo is in Dakar – the Senegalese capital for the launch of the expansion project in collaboration with Mastercard Foundation.

Maty Sy reports that the foundation has reached over 7,300 women and girls creating nearly 4000 jobs and employment opportunities.
