Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen got the crucial goal that secured a  1-1 draw for Napoli away at Udinese and the 2022/23 Serie A title.

Napoli went into the game needing at least one point to become Serie A champions for the first time since the 1989/90 season.

It is Napoli’s third league title after first emerging as champions in 1987 and later in 1990.

Coach Luciano Spalletti’s team emerged champions with five games left to play in the season.

Osimhen’s goal against Udinese means he has equaled George Weah’s record for the highest African goalscorer in Serie A with 46 goals.
