A coalition of women’s organizations and associations in Niger, operating under the collective name Women Committed to Safeguarding the Homeland, staged a sit-in protest yesterday in Niamey.

Their demonstration took place in front of the office of the ECOWAS representative in Niger, with the primary aim of urging both ECOWAS and UEMOA to lift the sanctions imposed on Niger following the recent military takeover.
