The Nigeria Broadcasting Commission has threatened to shut down any broadcast station that uses its platform to propagate fake news.
The Director-General of NBC, Malam Balarabe Ilelah, gave the warning at a sensitization forum on political broadcasting ahead of the commencement of campaigns for the 2023 elections on 28th September 2022.
He warned that the Commission would not hesitate to sanction any individual and organisation that breaches the broadcasting codes.
