The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC LTD, has issued a directive to retail outlets to increase prices of fuel per litre by over two hundred per cent.
The pump price for petrol by late Wednesday went as high as 500 Naira equivalent to one dollar compared to 195 Naira on Tuesday after the removal of fuel subsidy in the country.
The directive has caused an uproar among Nigerians and the Nigeria Labour Congress is threatening to go on strike over the issue.
