Emerging reports from Nigeria say leader of the Yoruba separatist group Sunday Adeyemo, has been arrested in neighboring Benin.
Adeyemo was arrested by security forces at an airport in Cotonou – the Beninese capital late Monday.
According to sources, the separatist who was heading for Germany – would be repatriated back home today – Tuesday.
The arrest of the separatist leader Sunday Adeyemo also known as Sunday Igboho comes weeks after he was declared wanted for allegedly stockpiling arms as well as attempt to undermine state authority.
He was also accused of inciting violence against Fulani herders in southern states in the country, an allegation he denies.
