The Nigerian government has assured the Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC) of its unwavering commitment to fully implement all agreements reached with them.

The state’s response comes barely 72 hours after the union threatened an unprecedented action at the expiration of the two-week ultimatum to address critical issues impacting Nigerians.

At a media conference on Friday, Nigeria’s Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, reiterated the federal government’s readiness to implement the 16-point agreement reached with them on October, 2nd 2023.

She urged the two labour organisations to continue demonstrating restraint in their decisions and actions.

The minister stated President Bola Tinubu’s resolve to continue leveraging on the principles of social dialogue in creating a better Nigeria for all.
