Youth in oil-producing communities in Nigeria are protesting over the alleged failure of the government to protect them against environmental hazards posed by oil-producing firms.

The protesters are alleging years of neglect and insensitivity by several multinational oil companies, and the failure to provide basic amenities and jobs for the unemployed youths.
